Gladio Salutum

The aim of Gladio Salutum to introduce people to the swords path as taught by Fiore dei Liberi over 600 years ago.
To help people to become at one with the longsword in the hands and move freely, and in doing so improve health and outlook by finding peace in the perfection of the moment.

Sottani  both Mandritto and Roverso with false edge first colpi, true edge second colpi, passare and tonare.
  • Note: keep hands low on first colpi, passing step with the second.
 
Fendente Mandritto and Roverso with false edge first colpi, true edge second colpi, passare and tonare.
  • Note: keep the hands close to the body on the first colpi, stepping with the second.
 

The Falcon leaves the Tower
 
Combining the guards, steps and colpi together to create this form, along with a discussion about the natural pause of breath, focus, biological peace, a state of calm.
 
Tutta Porta di Ferro, close eyes, breath gently for 3 breaths, in and out, in and out, in and out. Open eyes and begin.
Mandritto Sottanto Falso, Mandritto Sottanto , passare into Posta la Finestra Sinestra. Breathe in.
Roverso Soprano punta , passare into Posta Longa. Breathe out.
Tornare into Posta la Finestra Sinestra.  Breathe in.
Roverso Mezzano soprano, passare. Breathe out.
Mandritto Mezzano soprano, tornare. Breathe in.
Roverso falso Fendente, Roverso Fendente, tornare into Tutta Porta di Ferro. Breathe out.
Reflect
 
Repeat the exercise gently, looking at the most accurate and optimal cuts and movement. Accuracy over speed.
